Welcome to Inner Circle website.  This is who we are.   If you want to learn some self defence and some martial arts, we have something for all

- Family Self-Defence

- Japanese Ju-jitsu

- Yang Taijiquan (108)

- Kali & Modern Weapons of opportunity

Learn to repel & disarm attackers using the attacker’s own force and aggression against them.
It’s easier than you might think & anyone, any age, any size & any shape can learn. It’s fun too. You’re never too old nor too young to start.
The best way to never be a victim is to arm yourself with a weapon that can never be taken from you. YOU!

We will teach you 3 full and separate martial arts but first comes self defence. Make no mistake, Self defence is different to martial art. Most martial arts will help with self defence, some are great, but some are useless? Can you guess which are which? Our Martial Arts have been chosen because of their effectiveness in modern environments and society. Its nice to learn ancient arts that were used on bow & arrow and sword laden battle fields. It helps to understand this, but if you want to keep yourself safe on the streets, now, (and not end up in jail) its a different set of skills.

Enrol now for your FREE Trial.

- Learn how to fight ~ most martial arts don’t teach this!
- Learn how to “not fight” ~ very few martial arts teach this!
- Stop Bullies Cold! ~ you only need 1 move. We teach 20
- Learn Stranger Danger and Anti-abduction ~ +life skills
- We Focus on Attitude, Behaviour & Character ~ ABCs

Inner Circle Academy training sessions promote Fun, Focus & Fitness.
We teach safety, discipline, respect for self, others and community as core to our art.
In only a short time, students will notice improvements in Confidence, Discipline & Concentration.

A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THE INNER CIRCLE

Inner Circle Academy teaches traditional Japanese Jujutsu and includes Atemi (kicks, strikes, blocks & vital targets), Kansatsu (9 basic & 83 variations of joint locks) Katame (143 grappling techniques) including  Osaekomi (hold downs & ground work), Nagewaza (throws & takedowns 129 techniques).

We include almost everything in the Kodokan Judo curriculum, most of the Yoseikan Budo/Aikido curriculum several Silat techniques and many Ninjitsu techniques.  We practice a full Bukiwaza (weapons) curriculum as well as an entire Kali curriculum, a world class Iaido curriculum and a full Tai Chi system.  We also practice Hojojutsu (tying & untying plus urban escapes)

Your first few grades will be mostly Goshin Jitsu (practical self defence) & you'll learn how to break someone's nose on your very first night. If you wish you can progress to a full Combatives system that'll see you right in most urban adverse situations.

We grade 4 times a year. Not everyone passes.

This isn't even everything. Some people think this is too much. We call it a solid start.

This martial art is definitely not for the feint hearted. BUT it will enrich your life beyond your current comprehension.

We take ages 3-6 Pandas, 6-8 Dragon Cubs, Scorpion urban safety program for 5-9s, Tigers 8-11, Wolves 12-16, Lions 16+ & Fox 50+.

Our instructors are all peak body accredited black belts with 1000s of hours mat experience and a minimum 200 hours under instruction. All with Blue Card, 1st Aid and fully insured.

We have dedicated coaches for Kali (weapons), Iaido (sword), ground work (BJJ) & Tai Chi.

We have 4 dojos and 17 individual training opportunities in the Moreton Bay area each week with more dojos opening soon. We run free 4 week self defence courses and free Panda Jitsu holiday programs for the MBRC.

Our dojos are currently full, however we are taking applications so that if any members drop out or move from the area we will be able to consider your request to join.

Size, shape, fitness nor age will prevent you from success.

You'll need to make a serious commitment to yourself about regular training though.

You'll get a 2 week free trial (interview). Not everyone is accepted.

I'm happy to discuss your current situation.  I won't abandon anyone. If you're having DV or extreme bullying issues, please talk to me.

Are you ready to make the commitment?

Some interview questions you might be asked if you want to join Inner Circle Academy:

1.  Do you have any prior experience with martial arts? Are you an expert in any way?

2.  Do you know anything about this particular martial art?

3.  What are your expected outcomes? What problems do you expect this martial art to solve?

4.  What makes you qualified to determine if this martial arts matches your needs in the 2 free trial lessons?

5.  If you are not an expert, what are the key things you are looking for?

6.  How much do you think is a fair price to pay for learning from people who have spent their entire life learning, perfecting and passing on this martial art?

7.  What are your concerns or hesitations if any?

8.  In the future, if you are admitted, how will you measure your success?

9.  How will you add value to the club?

10. Who will vouch for you?

If you are ready to make a commitment to start your martial arts journey, think about the answers to these questions.

Please don't be shy. For most, there is no wrong or absolute right answer. You won't be disqualified from entry based on your responses.

I am looking for and insisting upon good character though. Unrepentant poor character will prevent you from even stepping foot in the dojo!

Something to think about while you are deciding whether or not to get off the couch or not.  Agree or disagree?

I welcome your thoughts or questions either way,  talk to me on our Facebook page.

You don't need to subscribe to violence to be a martial artist. You don't need to train for and plan to be able to injure or maim someone who might attack you at some time in the future. BUT you have a right to defend yourself against violence and aggression. I recommend that everyone devote a small amount of their time to learning the basics. It's then your choice what to do with those skills. I have been a practising pacifist for most of my life, but I wouldn't want to meet me in a dark ally!
